Praying for Emily and Her Family

Please pray for Emily and her family. Emily has a very short time left here on earth and her family is walking through an unenviable storm that only few can imagine. She has received visits from very special friends. Pray for comfort and peace for all.

Dylan is Heading Home

I apologize for not updating. I have been out of town but this is an update worth waiting for!

From Dylan's Mama: "After 6 weeks in the hospital, this is the face of a boy who spent a wonderful day outside. Time to pack now as we prepare to reunite our family."

Join me in celebrating and praising God for this great step forward!

A Good Day For Dylan!

Dylan's Mom Updates "A good day for Dylan! He stayed awake more, sat up, played & even posed w/his surgeon Dr. Levitt. We learned Dylan also has an immunoglobulin deficiency, his body tremors are a result of the trauma he's been through & we're still waiting on more results. A busy day filled with cautious optimism. Baby steps! A big thanks to all who think of Dylan. It means so much to us."

Dylan Needs A Miracle

Two notes from Dylan's Mom:

1st "Dylan is not well, not well at all. He's not eating, he's pale & in tremendous pain. We are getting on a flight back to Cincinatti Children's Hospital. Please keep him in your thoughts."

2nd "Dylan needs a miracle. If you have one, can we borrow it? His brother & sister also need their family back."

Please remember this family in fervent prayer!

Great News for Dylan!

2/13/12 Dylan Update

"We are optimistic that Dylan's infection & mental state are on the mend. His biggest issues are his weakness & refusal to eat. He's getting nutrition from a PICC line but we need him stronger before we can consider taking him home. Oleg went home to the kids tonight and heads to work tomorrow. From now on, I get Ronald McDonald all to myself:)"

and

"If there is one thing to know about Dylan, he will never turn down a pretty face. It took three pretty faces to get him to eat a small cup of ice cream today. It was the only thing he ate but it's progress. His spirit is back & now we just have to convince him to eat. We are turning off the nutrition tomorrow & hoping for the best. Thank you for reading my posts & checking in on his well being. It makes the four walls of a hospital room with no window feel much bigger:)"  Melissa, Dylan's amazing mom!

I was very happy to see that Dylan is sitting up! Please continue to pray!

2/9/12 Dylan Update

"Dylan is sleeping peacefully after a big day. He was awake & alert for a good few hours! He had a long MRI, met with surgery, neurology, nutrition & infectious disease. For the 1st time, in 6 days, we finally have a grasp on the status of his C-diff Enterocolitis & his mental status. We have a long road ahead of us but we know Dylan is a fighter & is on the right track. On a sad note, the baby next to Dylan passed away today. This journey has taught us to appreciate every moment with our children."

Please continue to pray for Dylan and his family.

2-8-12 Dylan Update

"A rough day filled with good & bad news. Dylan opened his eyes more today but there are concerns about his mental state. An MRI is on the schedule for tomorrow. Cardiology is joining the team as his heart rate was very low today. He developed a rash on his body & a high WBC count. We haven't left his side since we started this journey 1/24th but at least here we are closer to our kids. Tonight we had the opportunity to see them for dinner:) Hoping for a better tomorrow."

Keep praying friends!!

2-7-12 Dylan Update

Melissa: "Today marks 2 weeks in the hospital. Dylan had a rough night and a better day. The antibiotics seem to be doing their job but we need him to wake up. This is the hardest part. Keep the positive thoughts coming. Thank you!"

Keep praying! Thank you.

Prayers for Dylan UPDATE

Melissa posted: "Dylan is still critical but stable. He's not alert but will open his eyes. He's resting comfortably and in amazing hands. The Dr's say we got here in time. Yesterday it was, take it minute by minute. Today they said we can take it day by day. Our sincere heartfelt thanks for your amazing support."

Please keep praying for this family and their amazing little man.

Please Pray for Dylan

I haven't posted for a while, not because there haven't been needs but because I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Tonight, I felt strong about bringing a little guy to your attention.

Dylan has Emanuel Syndrome and had surgery last week in a hospital a few states away from his home. All seemed to be going well until last night. Here are some posts from his mother.

Melissa: "Our worst nightmare...we are back in the OR with a complication. He's in bade shape worse than any day in (the other hospital). Thank goodness for SIUH. The pediatric ER is amazing. Please keep him in your thoughts."

then

"Dylan is being transported by ambulance to the ICU at Children's Hospital. It's bad. They think it is Enterocolitis/obstruction."

then

"Dylan is in the intensive care unit at Cohen's Children Hospital. The doctors believe it is enterocolitis. He is not conscious and not doing well. Please think of him all day today. He needs everyone to pull for him."

and most recently

"Dylan is in critical but stable condition tonight. He's still not up but he looks better & he is in great care. He's alive thanks to the quick thinking of some amazing Dr's & nurses."

So I am asking you to please pray and please pass this on.

(When I get permission, I will post his photo, he is a handsome guy!)

Thank you.
