Funeral Mass and Potluck Reception– Sunday, August 2nd, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 6pm (Reception will be held in Java Joe’s following service, please bring food to Java Joe’s before service)

Baby Brady-Update-Very Sad News

Peyton Joel Brady passed away at 5:24 PM PDT, today, July 28, 2009. Please pray for parents Christopher and Marissa along with his grieving grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends. They are 3 1/2 hours away from home and I am sure it will be a very long, sad ride home. Thank you for your continued prayers.

Baby Brady Needs Prayer!-Update

This was posted by a friend of Peyton's Grandma. "Please pray for Patches grandbaby peyton. he is up at OHSU. He was life flighted after flat lining two times at mercy and they brought him back. He is up at OHSU. He is seizureing and the doctors are not sure if he has brain damage or not. They are thinking it could be his liver and or they are hopeing it could only be viral in which they could treat. Little peyton is not responding to touch or anything right now. He is in coma. They currently have 47 specialist working on him. Please I ask pray for peyton and Chris and Marrissia."

Moriah Nelson

The latest news on Moriah could have been discouraging but Justin and Victoria are finding hope and courage. They know their little girl is a fighter and I am pretty sure that she got it from her parents. Please continue to pray for this wonderful family. Its been a long battle to care for Moriah and they are doing it with grace, faith and humor. I know they have touched me. My faith is strengthened by knowing their story. I guess that's another reason I want to pass their story on to others. They have had recent discussions regarding the future of Moriah's medical care. Pray for wisdom for themselves and the physicians.

Baby Brady Needs Prayer!

Please pray for the Brady family. I don't have details but their grandson was airlifted to Children's Hospital this morning and we are waiting for more news on his condition. He is only a few days old and from what I understand has not left the hospital due to fevers. I have no page to send you to but his grandma has been asking for prayer.

Abby Riggs needs our prayers today too. In short, she had a test come back positive for bacteria in her blood and she is already VERY compromised. He family blog explains its better.

Baby Stellan: Sharing My Heart

I am not going to pretend that I know how "MckMama" feels. I don't and I never fully wll. I do know the horror of watching your sick child decline to the point where they can only put you in a plane and send you to the specialists where you hope and pray that there will be answers. That all of the people in the world who are suppose to have the answers will. Its a frightening place to be. There is a fog that settles over you, sometimes the words barely come through in the fog of your brain. That is a place I have been and to find peace in that place is nothing more than a miracle. As you pray for Stellan's healing, pray for peace for the family and wisdom for the care teams and safety for the airlift squad. Keep hoping for the best. Remember there are hundreds of families in this situation at this very moment who deserve your prayers as well. We don't know there names or immediate struggles but God does. Please talk to HIM about them too.

doing the "going home from the hospital happy dance" with the kid who hasn't eaten since April that happily ate a bag of chips last night!!! Can't wait to get home...

She will still need us to pray for continued recovery and wisdom for the Doctors in treating her. I just didn't want to pass up a chance to praise God as well!

Birthday Edition

I have prayed about this and because its my birthday, I am going to take the liberty of asking that you pray for my family today. (Hey, its MY birthday, don't I get to do what I want?) Allison is in stable health at this time but my adorable husband had to leave town for work for several weeks. That means that even though I have a teenager who helps, it is nothing like having another parent here to manage her daily needs (food, baths, diapers, clothing, activities, etc.). I am not only missing my companion, I know that both of my girls feel his absence.

One more reason for this posting, I wanted to bring attention to those of you who have not walked this path of having a child with medical needs, life still goes on around us. Birthdays, anniversaries and holidays take place while our children are sick or hospitalized. The calendar doesn't stop. We learn to adjust our celebrations. In the past ten years, we have spent a July 4th, Christmas week, Valentine's day, St. Patrick's day and an anniversary sitting in our little girl's room wondering how it would turn out.

So I am asking, not just for today, but when a holiday comes along, and you are praying for the meal or the day, lift up those kiddos and families who are just hoping for a regular day let alone a holiday. One more, I am acutely aware that I my solo flight in special needs parenting is temporary, for many it is not. I am sure that they grow weary and discouraged with the daily tasks and would love your prayers as well.

Moriah is closer to home now!

New Concerns For Kate's Family

Please check in with Kate's parents. Kate's brother is now having health issues and these sweet parents are being pulled in different directions! None of this has taken the Lord by surprise but it can mess with a parent's balance. They need our prayers!
